Solar Power

Green Goings on at The John Betjeman Centre, Wadebridge on Friday the 19th of March at 10:30 am, our Member of Parliament, Dan Rogerson switched on the Solar Photovoltaic System at The John Betjeman Centre in Wadebridge.

We did not supply industrial rubber gloves for the switching on and hope that we have not contravened safety rules The system should produce 5,000 kWp of electricity per year, enough to power 2 average size homes.

There were a few interested members of the public and of course some of our helpers. Dan and a few councillors had given our project support and were all invited but some had other commitments and could not attend.

We were given talks and a stills film show of other types of renewable energy by Rob Pickering from LCBP Phase 2 Community Energy Plus and Andy Tanner from Plug into the Sun. Anne Edwards Joan Proctor and Jean Endean served us with light refreshments.

We ended with time for questions and answers and to inspect the system and displays.

On hand to help were our Treasurer Alan Weeks and our Maintenance Manager George Proctor.
Report by George Harris. Chairman.
