August 2010

Well just in case you heard that I had a Football Pools win I am not allowing it to change my life style. I advise you not to waste time and postage sending me begging letters as I have spent it. Not difficult as the total sum was twelve pounds fifty one pence.

For those who are new to the area we are situated on Southern Way, next door to the Wadebridge County Library. You cannot miss us, Look for a Railway Station building. As it as become the norm’, there is no coach trip for August but the Centre will be open for you to savour all the usual delights we have on offer.

Our timetable remains the same. Mondays 10 am for an hours free gently exercise and then an hour for a more intense session. The Tai Chi has really popular but there is room for more students.

Wednesday mornings we have Doreen Blake to instruct you with physical exercises. Thursday you can relax and get ready for Eric and Rosemary’s ever popular Friday afternoon “Tea Dance”. No one as come forward to organise tabletop sales but the job is still open if anyone wants it.

Stefan our Webmaster is poorly once again. Keeps up a brave face and continues maintain our web site. Thanks Stefan and let’s see you out and about soon.

We are making arrangements to Posh the place up. Redecoration, new curtains and carpets throughout. Then the committee will have to do a bit of busking to pay for it. The Wadebridge museum has had to close, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate them and their artefacts but we have agreed to display the Wadebridge Town Tea Service and that’s about it.

Even though there is no Coach Trip, do call in for a cuppa and a chat. There are other light refreshments. The John Betjeman Centre is a place where you can meet old friends and without a doubt, make new ones.

Enjoy your summer break and see you around.
All the best
